Breaking: Seven People Shot At Indiana Nightclub

Authorities said that seven people were shot in a single incident at a nightclub in Gary, Indiana on early Sunday. One of those shot sustained serious injuries.

Gary police Detective Sgt. William Fazekas said that one gunman involved in the shooting is already in their custody. Officers are still hunting down the other suspect.

The police also described the shooting incident as isolated.

The victims of the incident in the northern Indiana city were brought to hospitals for treatment. Most are in stable conditions. One victim, however, who sustained more serious injuries, was taken to a hospital in Chicago, about 25 miles away.

Police said they found four male and three female victims at Dirtty’s Jazz and Blues Club. Another person also hurt his leg while trying to rush to safety.

Lt. Dawn Westerfield, a spokeswoman for the department, said that they could not give more details yet related to the suspects, victims, or the circumstances of the shooting at the venue on the city’s east side. Lt. Westerfield said she expected to provide more information later Sunday or early Monday morning as soon as more verified details become available.

Representatives of the establishment where the shooting took place have given no statements or comments on the incident yet.
