A man tried to lure a young girl to his vehicle on a Friday morning at a school bus in west suburban Naperville in Chicago. Fortunately, he did not succeed and was later arrested by the authorities.
Authorities responded at around 7:33 a.m. after reports reached them that a man was attempting to lure a “young, female student” into his vehicle at a bus stop near Modaff and Massachusetts. Police said they were able to locate the suspect’s vehicle and arrested the man. The suspect was the lone occupant of the vehicle at that time.
The man has been identified as 37-year-old Early D. Kluss. A statement from Naperville police said the man was charged with two counts of child abduction, and one count each of possession of a controlled substance and driving under the influence.
The Will County Sheriff’s office said Kluss is being held at the Will County Adult Detention Facility on a $500,000 bond. He will have his next court date on Monday.
It is not clear if Kluss has any prior records of sexual misconduct or attempted child abuse cases prior to his arrest.
The girl he almost victimized is safe.
There is no word yet from the authorities if there would be security adjustments within the area to ensure vulnerable children are safe from potential predators as Kluss.
