Video - Russian Needs Wine, Steals Tank, Rams It Into Shop

A Russian man was so eager to get his hands on a bottle of wine from a shop that had unfortunately closed for the evening that he found no better way than to steal an army tank, ram it into the shop and then snatch the wine.

We must admit, a novel but quite efficient solution.

The man stole the tank on caterpillar tracks from a military driving school in the far northern Murmansk region where it is currently freezing cold and so who could blame you for wanting a late night cup of alcohol.

The joyrider drove the armored vehicle through his small town of Apatity where he badly damaged a parked car, luckily a not too good looking Daewoo, and then careered through the front of the supermarket.

As always with Russians whenever something shocking happens, the internet users did not seem that amazed, with one commenter saying: “Basically some guy stole an armoured vehicle, and went into a shop to top up his stocks in the morning.”

Many were surprised he snatched a bottle of wine and not the traditional Russian vodka, with one commenter stating: “If that wasn't awesome enough, he was after a bottle of wine… I hope it was a rosé.”

The man, believed to be in his late 20s, appeared to be in a drunken state and did not resist arrest.

Russian commenters were glad to find that the wine in question was one from the Russian (formerly Ukrainian) region of Crimea.

Still, the pinnacle of achievement whilst conducting stolen tank belongs to this American…

The American version was way more entertaining. Funny seeing a division of squad cars just following along not able to deploy spike strips or a pit maneuver.
