Shock Video - Underfed Mobs of Venezuelans Resort To Killing Cattle For Food

The food shortages in the once touted ‘socialist paradise’ Venezuela have taken on draconian form as the internet gets flooded with video of villagers stoning a live cow in a field to get some food and people fighting each other in the street for a strip of food.

According to reports, 3 people died and 15 were wounded as mobs fought amongst each other over access to food.

A member of the opposition parliament, Mr Juan Guaido, stated: "What we're living is barbaric."

"The dehumanizing regime of Nicolas Maduro is turning a blind eye to the tragedy that we Venezuelans are living."

Mr Zuley Urdaneta, a 50-year-old veterinarian, described to international reporters how he witnessed the looting of a truck along the highway.

When the mob still didn’t find food, some 800 people converged on a food collection center and proceeded to plunder it, having no other choice left

"They knocked down the gates and looted flour, rice, cooking oil, cooking gas."

"The police and the National Guard tried to control the situation by giving out what was left."

The government of President Nicolas Maduro takes one emergency measure after the other to try and stave off the recession which his country is in. Last week, in a last-ditch attempt to combat "speculation," the socialist government forced some 200 supermarkets to slash prices, creating utter chaos as groups of desperate Venezuelans leapt at the chance to buy cheaper food, but only found empty shelves.
