Trump Supports Comey Amid #ObamaGate Wiretap Controversy

President Donald Trump still has confidence in the FBI Director James Comey as reported by the White House. This comes despite the FBI Director challenging President Trump’s statement that former president Obama’s administration was involved in wiretapping him during the 2016 election campaign period.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation head James Comey has asked the Justice Department to reject President Trump’s accusation that former President Obama had ordered a wiretap at the Trump Tower in New York because the claim was false and has to be corrected.

The White House Spokesman Sean Spicer was asked whether President Trump still had confidence in Comey, in response, Comey said that there’s nothing that he has been told by Mr. Trump that would lead him to believe that anything is different than what it was prior.

The White House spokesman was almost 100 per cent certain that Trump had not spoken to the FBI head since the Republican president made the allegation on Twitter on Saturday. Sean Spicer told reporters that he was not aware that had occurred.

President Trump has not yet disclosed any evidence concerning the wiretapping statement that he made on Saturday, Mr. Trump’s presidency has had to deal with the false allegations from Democrats who have been twisting the Russian narrative as they try to falsely accuse Trump associates of having Russian ties.

After President Trump unleashed the wiretapping statement, the news hit the US stocks on Monday as some investors worried that the affair could distract Trump from his economic agenda of introducing tax cuts and simplifying regulations that has powered a record-setting rally on Wall Street since the 2016 presidential election.

Investors have been questioning whether the post-election rally has run its course since some of Trump’s proposals have not had sufficient details accompanied by his isolationist stance and setbacks in filling the Cabinet.

The Democrats have falsely claimed that Trump’s statement on the wiretapping is not true. However, the Congressional committee is investigating the matter and very soon the truth will be disclosed.
