Audio: What You Hear When You Call The White House During A Shutdown

Wondering how a shutdown works? Just call the White House.

After a key vote failed to pass in the Senate Friday, the government has been partially shut down. Soon after the <a href="https://thegoldwater.com/news/16523-Government-Shutdown-Deadline-Passes-No-Deal">vote</a> failed to pass, the White House Office of the Press Secretary issued a statement.

<b>Statement by the Press Secretary</b>

"Senate Democrats own the Schumer Shutdown. Tonight, they put politics above our national security, military families, vulnerable children, and our country's ability to serve all Americans. We will not negotiate the status of unlawful immigrants while Democrats hold our lawful citizens hostage over their reckless demands.

This is the behavior of obstructionist losers, not legislators. When Democrats start paying our armed forces and first responders we will reopen negotiations on immigration reform. During this politically manufactured Schumer Shutdown, the President and his Administration will fight for and protect the American people."

Not very promising to see adults in legislative positions putting illegals over American citizens, this type of thinking is exactly what makes liberalism a cancer. Anyone involved in this government shutdown should not be getting a red cent from the American people.

If you're going to hold Americans hostage by withholding pay to military families, it should be your pay that is on the line, not the people who had no choice in whether the government shut down.
