Jim Carrey Urges People To Delete Their Facebook Account And Sell Their Stock

World famous comedian and actor Jim Carry urged people Tuesday to boycott Facebook. His reasoning? Apparently, he feels they didn't do enough to stop Russian meddling in the election.

His post reads, "I’m dumping my @facebook stock and deleting my page because @facebook profited from Russian interference in our elections and they’re still not doing enough to stop it. I encourage all other investors who care about our future to do the same. #unfriendfacebook"

Carrey starred in cult-classic comedies like Liar, Liar and Dumb and dumber among many others including the holiday hit How The Grinch Stole Christmas.

It's not really clear what sparked his sudden hate for the social media company but he mentions none of the reasons that should be more concerning than some Russian spam accounts.

How about the systematic silencing of conservatives on the website?

In 2016, a former employee came forward to say that Facebook routinely suppressed news stories of interest to conservative readers from the social network’s influential "trending" news section.

Or the video Facebook's owner Mark Zuckerburg shared showing himself laughing and joking around while imposing cartoon characters into scenes of mass devastation in Puerto Rico.

Zuckerburg laughed about being in VR and able to high-five his coworker while people were fishing their loved ones and belongings out of the mud.

What a great video to demonstrate how disconnected the billionaire owner of Facebook really is. The company has grown into power far too quickly and with little to no oversight.

Perhaps Carry got burned by Zuckerburg at an award show or his Facebook account was banned, who knows.

For now, he's sticking with his story about Russian bots being the reason behind his boycotting of the company.
