Russia - Putin Wins 76% As Widespread Vote Rigging Videos Surface

Russia’s parliament will remain ‘Putin’s parliament’ as his people overwhelmingly voted to make sure Mr Vladimir Putin will remain the Kremlin’s Tsar for another 6 years, ensuring he is at the helm of the country for a total 25 years.

In his victory speech, Mr Putin stated that he would raise the living standard and defend his country against the west. The Russian parliament is now little more than a Kremlin rubber stamp as Mr Putin’s United Russia took most of the vote and the three next parties on the ballot are all loyal backers of his.

Mr Putin, having barred his nearest rival Mr Alexei Navalny from running against him, needed the vote to be seen as freer and fairer but that will be hard to prove as several videos of vote rigging have surfaced on the internet.

But that doesn’t matter to Russian politicians, with Ms Valentina Matviyenko, speaker of the upper house claiming: “Our elections have proved once again … that it’s not possible to manipulate our people.”

“People came together. No other country in the world has such open and transparent elections.”

Opposition leader Mr Navalny has already called for anti-Putin protests demanding a re-run of an election which he claims was neither free nor fair.

Former chess world champion Mr Garry Kasparov, who also tried his hand at opposition politics in Russia, stated on US tv that: “First of all, stop calling it elections. It’s a charade. The only vote that matters in a dictatorship like Russia is Putin’s vote.”
