Woman Dies From Gwyneth Paltrow Promoted Health Therapy

Former actress turned lifestyle adviser Ms Gwyneth Paltrow continues to offer the

strangest treatments via her lifestyle website named ‘Goop’.

Often mocked for both the ridiculousness of her treatments and the outlandishness of her prices, we should now also add the danger of some of those bits of advice.

A 55-year old Spanish woman has died after trying live bee acupuncture, a therapy highly recommended by Goop, even though researchers who studied the case say live bee acupuncture therapy is "unsafe and unadvisable".

The woman tried the ‘apitherapy’ several times and died weeks later of multiple organ failure.

The woman's case has been reported in the Journal of Investigational Allergology and Clinical Immunology, by doctors from the allergy division of University Hospital, Madrid.

In an interview with the New York Times in 2016, Gwyneth Paltrow said she had tried apitherapy: "I've been stung by bees. It's a thousands-of years-old treatment called apitherapy.”

“People use it to get rid of inflammation and scarring. It's actually pretty incredible if you research it. But, man, it's painful."
