Atlanta Train Shooting: Gunman on the Loose

A train station shooting in northwest Atlanta has left one person dead and three others injured.

The shooting victim at the West Lake Marta train station has been identified by relatives as 29-year old Zachariah Honeycutt.

Two other men and a woman were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital for their injuries. Officials said that they are in a stable condition. A fifth victim was also injured from the panic that took place after the shooting, and not from gunfire.

Authorities confirm that they already have the suspect in custody. They refuse to identify him yet. Police officers would only say the suspect was in his 30s. He was caught as he tripped and fell while trying to escape from the scene of the crime.

The shooting happened at around 4:30 p.m. It is not yet known what exactly led to the shooting. Passengers on the train at that time were evacuated.

The West Lake station is temporarily closed due to the incident.

People who can give information about the shooting incident and about the suspect are encouraged to call Marta at 404-848-4911.
