A 26-year-old Derby man decided to rob a bank in Ansonia, Connecticut last week and his motivation for the robbery is hard to believe. The robbery took place last Wednesday at 3:40 p.m. when a man in his late 20's to early 30's strolled into Webster Bank on Division Street and demanded money.

The robber didn't brandish a weapon but his demand was met by a bank teller who handed over a chunk of cash along with a dye pack. The man was leaving the bank with his spoils when the dye pack exploded in the parking lot of the bank. The dye pack left red ink all over the man and his ill-gotten money.
The robbery suspect was caught on the bank's surveillance system and the next day two witnesses ID's 26-year-old Bruce Rowley. Police obtained a search warrant for Rowley's Jeep and his home on Chapel Street in Derby. A nationwide alert was also issued for the man police suspected is responsible for the robbery.

TMZ reports that Rowley was on his way to Taylor Swift's $18 million mansion in Watch Hill overlooking Block Island Sound. Rowley's Jeep was soon spotted by Rhode Island State Police on Interstate 95 and attempted to initiate a traffic stop on the vehicle. Ansonia Police Lt. Patrick Lynch said, "Rowley refused to stop and engaged the Rhode Island State Police in a pursuit that eventually entered Connecticut. Troopers from the Connecticut State Police Troop E in Montville joined in the pursuit."
The pursuit ended after troopers used spike strips to take out the Jeep's tires forcing Rowley to a stop. Officers also employed the use of a K9 unit to subdue Rowley who was bitten in the arm by the dog while police were taking him into custody. According to the police report, "Rowley repeatedly told cops he had a crush on Taylor and that he planned on donating some of the money he stole from the bank to Ansonia PD … believing that would impress her."
