Swamp Continues to Drain as Rep. Charlie Dent (R-PA) Resigns

News coming out of the swamp of Capitol Hill in Washington, DC reports that Representative Charlie Dent (R-PA) has decided to resign from his position overseeing Pennsylvania’s 15th District, bringing the potential for a fresh candidate to fill his shoes.

The Pennsylvania representative is the epitome of the “Never Trump” crowd of GOP politicians, having stated during the 2016 elections that be wouldn't vote for Republican nominee Donald J. Trump, and has been a direct threat to the President's agenda during his first half of the first term.

Dent attacked then-Candidate Trump in 2016, saying of the President that he'd “crossed a bridge too far,” as reported by The Morning Call in Pennsylvania.

Each of the establishment GOP (eGOP) politicians such as Dent ended up eating their words when Donald J. Trump was elected President, and haven't seemed to as of yet be able to mature to the point of admitting they were wrong in opposing Trump, who's now one of the most successful Presidents in American history, still has over two years remaining in the first half of his tenure.

Recently, Dent attacked the Attorney General, Jeff Sessions, when he said that the firing of the corrupt former Deputy Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation Andrew McCabe “looks like retribution, and a bit vindictive.”

As the world knows, Andrew McCabe both lied to the Office of the Inspector General via Michael Horowitz and several FBI agents during repeated interrogations, where McCabe may inevitably face charges for his refusal, to tell the truth under oath.

"This firing looks a bit forced, a bit rushed. Candidly, it looks like retribution and a bit vindictive," Dent said at the time. "And I think it's unfortunate. The man said he's resigning, you know, and on a Friday night before his 50th birthday, he's fired to take away his pension? I don't like the optics of this, I really don't."

Charlie Dent has again been proven wrong, as have anyone who's thus far challenged President Trump's will or opinions, in what some call ” the Trump curse,” with an almost invincible-like mantra of always being proven correct at the end, and the uncanny ability to deflect attacks from both the left and right, giving Donald Trump the nickname the ”Teflon Don”.

"It looks like the Attorney General may have been browbeaten into this, he's been publicly humiliated and shamed by the president on multiple occasions, and I just don't think this bodes well,” Dent argued in defense of McCabe, whilst attacking President Trump.

With supposed “friends” like Charlie Dent in the Republican Party, who needs enemies?

The people of Pennsylvania and the rest of the country are ecstatic to see the swamp-dwelling neoconservative leaving office, as he claims he's intending to spend more time with his family and friends.

There are several Republicans in the state that could fill the void, with the swamp seemingly being drained by retirements, including the House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) who announced he wouldn't be seeking reelection last week.

With Charlie Dent announcing his desire to leave Washington, DC, there's now a total of 12 House Republicans, all of whom are anti-Trump, who are serving their final term in office. There's also an additional three GOP Senators as of now who've announced they'll be leaving, making fifteen empty slots for the President of the United States of America to continue to build the “Party of Trump” in Congress.

So long Charlie, you won't be missed.
