Norway - Government Issues Student Warning: “No To Sex On Roundabouts”

You may think this is a joke, but Norway’s Public Roads Administration is deadly serious with their “No to sex on roundabouts” campaign.

European students engage at the last 100 days of their studies in a traditional one day of partying. In places like France, Belgium and Luxembourg you will then see them dressed up in white aprons asking for money on street corners for their ‘100 days’ whilst in rich Scandinavia, they just go partying.

And no place is more famous for spring partying after a whole winter of being locked up inside than Norway.

Secondly, if you have ever driven in Scandinavia by car, you will know that every two or three kilometers on national roads there is a roundabout to slow down drivers (there are very few highways in these countries but many national roads). It is in the roundabouts of these national roads that many young students tend to engage in public fornication in these last few years, a ‘fad’ which has gotten very hyped on social media.

By now however, this has become such a distraction for adult drivers that the Norwegian government launched an official campaign aimed at the students to try and get them to choose another place to lose their virginity.

Mr Terje Moe Gustavsen, the former minister of transport who now runs the Public Roads Administration, explained that the sighting of sex on roundabouts may be “too much of a surprise” for drivers.

Mr Gustavsen’s office released a statement: “Everyone understands that being in and around roundabouts is a traffic hazard.”

“It may not be so dangerous for someone to be without clothes on the bridge, but drivers can get too much of a surprise and completely forget they are driving.”
