Toronto - 10 Dead As Accident Is Ruled out, Government Insists No Terrorism (Video)

Canadian police are by now questioning Mr. Alek Minassian, the driver of a rented van that ploughed into pedestrians in Toronto, killing 10 and injuring 15.

25-year-old Mr. Minassian was apparently known to Toronto law enforcement even though there was confusion about that earlier. The motive for his actions at this moment remains unclear although police say the incident appeared to be deliberate.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau tweeted about the "tragic and senseless attack" which had brought him "great sadness".

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en-gb"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">The <a href="https://twitter.com/TorontoPolice?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@TorontoPolice</a> and first responders faced danger without hesitation today, and I want to thank them for their courage and professionalism. We’ll continue working with our law enforcement partners as the investigation continues.</p>&mdash; Justin Trudeau (@JustinTrudeau) <a href="https://twitter.com/JustinTrudeau/status/988595475543543809?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">24 April 2018</a></blockquote>

The video of Mr. Minassian’s arrest shows a tense standoff between him and a police officer whom he dares to shoot him.

As you can clearly see, the police officer instructs the man to "get down" and when the suspect says he has a gun and repeatedly pulls his cell phone from his hip pretending it to be a gun, the officer repeats: "I don't care. Get down."

In the end, Mr. Minassian was arrested without shots being fired. The police officer in question has been hailed for his bravery.

Minassian: "Kill me!"

Cop: "No, get down!"

Minassian: "I have a gun in my pocket!"

Cop: "I don't care! Get down!"

Just moments before, Mr. Minassian had driven his rented van on the sidewalk, repeatedly mounting the pavement and trying to run into as many people as he could.

One witness said the van was "hitting anything that comes in the way. People, fire hydrants, there are mailboxes being run over."

Regarding Alek Minassian

I did a Origin of Last Name search and while the name is more common to the USA and FRANCE, shows it may have originated in ARMENIA .

SOME IRONY

The name "Alek" in Greek means : Defender of men; protector of mankind.

Some more info on the nut case.

No accident my PC liberal neighbor… yea right that animal was swerving to increase his body count then attempted to get offed by the copper.

People that have real accidents don't try to get shot by the 1st cop arriving at the scene, or swerve to hit more people. Really sad that Canada has become such a wimpy country they cover for terrorists.

Sad day for the canuks, and a gloomy future if they keep this shit up. Hell if they don't change their ways we will have to build a wall on our northern border to keep the Canadian retards out.
