India Giving Thick, Wooden Paddles to Brides to Defend Themselves!

A state minister in India has given hundreds of wooden bats to newly-wed brides, telling them to use the weapon as a handy defense if their husbands turn alcoholic or abusive.

I'm not sure about Indian women, but I have knives in my kitchen.

The bats are similar to those used to get the dirt out of clothes in traditional laundry works. I Guess that is a two for one if you look at it in the right way.

Minister Gopal Bhargava gifted similar bats to 700 brides at a mass wedding organized by the government of central Madhya Pradesh state on Saturday. Inscribe on them is: "For beating drunkards" and "Police won't intervene."

For a country that is grounded on the Hindu Religion, India seems to have a problem with her men. Gang rapes are still rampant and men beating their wives seems to be commonplace.

The minister told the media that his unconventional gift is not an attempt at politics, but a way to draw attention to the plight of rural women who face domestic abuse from their alcoholic husbands.

The minister just ordered another 10,000 bats as gifts to newly-wed women.

I say, hand out knives, chains, whips and guns. I've got a goddamned chainsaw for any bastard that lays a hand on me. A hand that I don't like.
