Olympic Gold Medalist Bode Miller’s 19-Month Old Daughter Drowns in Pool

Olympic gold medalist Bode Miller’s 19-month old baby drowned in a pool in a news that shocked the U.S. skiing community.

Paramedics were called to rescue the baby at a house in Coto de Caza in Orange County, California. The responders tried to revive Emeline Miller. She was brought to a hospital where she died Sunday evening.

The unfortunate incident happened on Saturday and authorities say it is under investigation.

Bode Miller took to social media to express his grief and devastation with what happened to her little daughter. He wrote: “We are beyond devastated. Never in a million years did we think we would experience a pain like this. Her love, her light, her spirit will never be forgotten.

Miller is considered the most successful American skier in international competition with multiple World Cup victories and a total of six medals, including a gold, in three Winter Games.

The U.S. Ski and Snowboard Team tweeted their sympathies to Miller and his family at this tough time.

Miller married Morgan Beck, a professional beach volleyball player, and model, in 2012. They also have a son, Edward Nash Skan Miller, born in 2015.

Miller also posted on Instagram on Easter Sunday that his wife is expecting another child in October.

The skier has two other children from previous relationships.

Social media users also sent their condolences to Miller and his family for their loss.
