The nerve-racking watch is over to the delight and relief of many: the little raccoon made it to the top safe and sound.
The little one made it to the rooftop of the 25th-story building it has been scaling for over 10 hours.

The little creature stole some of the limelight, at least social media attention, from the historic meeting between President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un. The scene-stealer Minnesota raccoon was seen scaling a St. Paul skyscraper ala Spider-man on Tuesday leaving those who are following the little animal’s journey through social media updates gasping for their breath, riveted and terrified for the safety of the daring darling.
The critter was spotted a few stories up on a window ledge, and if seen from below the building or from afar, its brownish body is but just a smudge on the skyscraper’s concrete and mottled stone exterior.
Then by lunchtime, a local radio reporter Tim Nelson from Minnesota Public Radio tweeted that the raccoon had climbed 12 stories up the UBS Towers. The stress level of those following the raccoon’s “journey” increases the higher he climbs.
Apparently, Nelson shared that the animal got stranded on a neighboring building two days before, possibly on an “errant mission to raid pigeon nests on the skyway.” On its own, the bold raccoon probably decided that there’s no way to go but up.
And so the raccoon’s climb to the top soon took the Twitterverse by storm, with the hashtag #MPRraccoon becoming viral, and being tracked nationwide. Then the local CBS affiliate joined the fray and started live-streaming the raccoon’s suspense-filled journey.

By midafternoon, the little wonder advanced to an additional 10 stories up, its claws somehow finding enough strength to did in and continue. It decided it needed a rest, however on the 22nd floor by the window ledge.
Animal control authorities were already on standby to trap and aid the animal by the time it reached the roof.
For now, just like an exciting sports match that ended in many people’s favored outcome, social media users are still cheering and celebrating, pumped up by the “high” they got from the victory of the little, brave raccoon.
