When Democrats and the Clinton team are in total panic mode, they unleash their vindictive nature and ask for for blood. Or in this case- for FBI Director James Comey's head.
Blaming Comey for Hillary's unstoppable decline in the polls with his announcement that the bureau is reopening its investigation on her private email server scandal, Obama chief adviser Valerie Jarrett has reportedly urged the President to fire Comey before he could even put the last nail on Hillary's presidential coffin, so to speak.
According to a source close to Jarrett, the political adviser was arguing to Obama that Comey was interfering deliberately in the election process and " had to be stopped". Jarrett, of course, was disregarding the fact that Comey was just acting according to his sworn mandate.
President Obama is widely known not to have fond feelings for Comey as well, having reportedly intimated to Jarrett before that appointing Comey was his biggest mistake as president. However, the President is also conscious about his own legacy and the possible political dire consequences of firing Comey at this point. Consequences that can backfire at them and hurt Hillary most.
Obama is said to be apprehensive that firing Comey before the election might result in a "Saturday night massacre", as it may anger American voters and further hand the victory to Donald Trump.
Obama has repeatedly said that he does not want to meddle in the affairs of the FBI that is supposed to be an independent body. However, the President's recent pronouncements in recent media interviews betray his real sentiments. Obama has criticized the FBI by practically suggesting that it is operating on innuendo in its decision to reopen the Hillary case. Now- is not that presidential intervention and pressure?
More Democrats are also supporting the call to fire Comey including Nancy Pelosi, Minority Leader in the House of Representatives, saying that " Comey is not in the right job".
Now that Comey wants to do what is right, something he was pressured not to accomplish during the first investigation, suddenly he's not in the right job?
Well, Democrats and Clinton's allies are going nuts with panic now that they're seeing their dream of recapturing the White House slipping. Unfortunately for them, there's no pill or cure for panic in the face of irreversible defeat.
