Columbus, Ohio Nightclub Shooting

In Northern Columbus, police say they are at the scene of a fatal shooting at a popular nightclub that happened in the early Saturday morning hours.

After an emergency call of shots fired at the busy nightclub police were dispatched to the 6200 block of Busch Boulevard around 12:40 a.m.

Upon arrival police found a grizzly scene where one person was pronounced dead minutes after emergency responders located the body.

Police also said a total of five victims had been critically injured in the shooting. Their current conditions or the extent of their injuries but they were transported to a nearby emergency room for surgery.

While many witnesses were at the scene it’s unclear if the shooting happened from inside or outside the nightclub, but dispatchers have said there were several reports of people injured both inside and outside the building.

No suspect descriptions have been released as of yet. However detectives suggest the incident was most likely gang related.

Such is often the case in a region plagued by gun violence and organized crime. Drugs are rampant and criminal activity increases with each passing year.
