Tennessee Missing And Unsolved Seeks Funds To Benefit Mission Of Working For TN Families

The organization Tennessee Missing and Unsolved is working on becoming a non-profit organization so that they can continue to further their mission serving the families of missing persons in the Tennessee region. TNMU has been working closely with the families of missing persons as well as those who have had loved ones murdered without sufficient police investigation.

In addition to networking with families of those involved, TNMU makes flyers, writes and researches. Often the information gathered goes far beyond anything covered in local media. TNMU also shares information with journalists, such as here at The Goldwater to facilitate further coverage and raising awareness about missing persons and unsolved murders and other heinous crimes. Along with offering emotional support and valuable information to loved ones of the missing they have done skip trace and collect tips from the general public. In certain cases, the local police and media are just not willing to due their due diligence and when there are issues with media coverage or police investigation TNMU is there to chart it and point out the problems.

Most importantly, as mentioned at their GoFundMe page: "We never ask the families of the missing or murdered for anything in return and we never will."

I have personally spoken to people who have been reached out to by TNMU and appreciate the tireless work they do and a brief glance at <a href="https://www.facebook.com/pg/TNMissingUnsolved/reviews/">their reviews page</a> will show others who are thankful for their existence:

<blockquote>"without thus group my family would still be searching for my aunt.. we have been looking since 2013 when she left called several police stations even filled put information report bc they wouldn't file missing persons.. no luck.. they found out in 1 day she had deceased and let us to her remains.. God bless yall.."</blockquote>

<blockquote>"I believe they will do all they can to find Ruby Butler and her Mother Hannah Smoothers ! Thanks for all you do and have done for others"</blockquote>

At their Facebook page, they have a perfect score of 5 stars based on 40 reviews of Tennesseans who are thankful of their service. At this juncture TNMU is working on becoming a registered nonprofit organization in the state of Tennessee. This would allow the group to raise funds for resources like search and rescue and cadaver dogs, PI licenses that would allow them to do more digging than is currently allowed without a PI license, law enforcement credentials or while working with a law firm as well as making it easier to coordinate officially with law enforcement agencies and officers.

To date, TNMU has been fully self-funded but as an accredited nonprofit they would be able to accept donations that would be tax deductible for senders and allow them to continue this work that has been so important to many.
