An organization representing 144 mosques in The Netherlands has written to Twitter and the Dutch government asking them to block the Twitter account of Mr Geert Wilders, the lead politician of the PVV (Freedom Party) as they claim he posts messages insulting Islam.
The Turkish-Islamic Cultural Federation (TICF) considers many of Mr Wilders’ statements to be contrary to Twitter’s terms of use. If Twitter or The Dutch government do not bow to their demands and block the politician’s account (whose party is the second biggest in the country), the foundation will take Twitter to court, lawyer Mr Ejder Kose told Dutch newspaper AD.

Other Islamic organizations also plan to file charges against Mr Wilders’ Twitter account appearing in four Islamic countries, Turkey, Morocco, Pakistan and Indonesia.
According to Mr Kose, many of the things the VVD politician sates on social media are punishable in those countries.
“Twitter offers Wilders a platform to spread his hatred propaganda worldwide. This means that not only Wilders, but also Twitter, is punishable in those countries. The world is bigger than the Netherlands.”
Mr Kose referenced a September 2017 tweet posted by Wilders that said: “The truth: Mohammed is the example for more than 1 billion Muslims. Mohammed was a pedophile, mass murderer, terrorist and madman.”
Mr Wilders responded by posting a picture of himself with duct tape across his mouth, in reference to the attempted silencing of UK activist and journalist Mr Tommy Robinson, on whose behalf he spoke in London when the latter was jailed earlier this year.

The popular Dutch politician also attempted to organize a competition of cartoons depicting the prophet, before an outcry from Muslims around the world forced him to cancel it.

Mr Wilders also pointed to the results of a September poll showing that 40% of all Dutch citizens support the law he proposed in the Dutch Parliament to ban Islam from public spaces.

I don't always agree with another person's opinion, but i will always defend their right to say it. In a free society it is essential to defend that right, no matter how much we might disagree with what is said.

If what Mr. Geert Wilders is tweeting is offensive to someone — they DO NOT HAVE TO READ HIS TWEETS! Anyone can block his tweets and not receive or read them. That is the two-fold benefit of freedom of speech —- someone can speak their mind freely — and the other person is also FREE to not listen or to disagree! Anyone, including Muslims who do not like what Wilders is saying, can just ignore him or block him on their accounts or Tweeter feeds. BTW, what are they doing reading his tweets anyway if they know that they are so offensive? Stay away from Wilders Tweeter account and that way — everyone can enjoy the freedom of speech! They are concerned about THEIR rights as Muslim (minority) but what about the rights of the citizens of the countries where freedom of speech is not only tolerated but encouraged as an unalienable right — if not the duty— of a free citizenry?

islam cannot be tolerated for it tolerates only itself & even then will turn upon its own people if deemed not devout or fanatical enough.
This religion, like Satanist, demon & devil worshippers must be wiped if there is ever to be hope of lasting peace.
