CA - Wildfires Rage On, Kill 5 People in Cars; Zoo Animals Evacuated

Even zoo animals were affected by the raging fires sweeping across California. Animals at The Los Angeles Zoo had to be placed in cages as a fire burned in Griffith Park, making the animals the latest “Californians” to have their lives disrupted by the recurring disaster.

The lemurs became the first animals to be evacuated, followed closely by the bird show animals.

The fire was spotted before 8 a.m. near fire roads, hiking trails, and a landfill in a remote section of Griffith Park. The fire sent plumes of smoke into the air as heavy brush burned.

Emergency response came fast. Within an hour of the fire being spotted, several water-dropping helicopters were circling the park to put out the flames.

Officials said that thankfully the smoke from the fire did not seem to cause health issues for the animals. The zoo staff, however, are continually monitoring their condition.

The fire behind the zoo was extinguished late morning on that same day. All visible flames have also been put out. One firefighter was injured, however, and was brought to a hospital for treatment. Officials said it’s a relief that he was not burned.

Crews are now cleaning and clearing the areas affected by the fire, with two helicopter monitoring the area as well.

Compared to the bigger damage and devastation including lives lost caused by a year of smoke and flames across California, Friday’s fire is by all accounts, still tame and “merciful.”

It wasn’t the case in a southern California wildfire where five people were killed while they were fleeing as another fire raging in the north triggered a mandatory evacuation order for most parts of Malibu.

Malibu’s beachside town has about 21,000 residents and is best known as the home of many Hollywood stars.

The victims’ bodies were discovered burned in vehicles torched by the flames in the paradise town.

Los Angeles County Fire Department warned that the fire is heading towards the ocean, even saying in a Twitter message that there’s an “imminent threat.”

Aside from the five found dead, director of the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services Mark Ghilarducci said that another fire in northern California had other fatalities, although the exact number of those who perished from the fire has yet to be fully determined. There were also those who suffered injuries.

The blazes California nearly quadrupled in size overnight and have caused severe damage. One has reached the edge of Chico, population 90,000.

Authorities in the San Francisco Bay Area have issued an unhealthy air quality alert for most of the area. The air was hazy and the smell of smoke overwhelming. People, especially children and elderly were advised to stay indoors and limit activities outside.

Most of us Californians are not dims.

Sure the illegals vote that way as do the uneducated, add to that, the cheating voter fraud that is CA. & you get a long line of libtards in power. Yet most of us are not in that boat. These small rural towns & counties are full of Patriots & we vote that way…

My Kids have videos of people that were cooked in cars. Stories of people making a run for it because the roads were clogged. The death toll is much higher. There was no escape for many.

Why is it every time things don`t go well (Senate) tragedy strikes?
