Despite previously clashing with Governor Jerry Brown, US President Trump signaled he had agreed to sign a Major Disaster Declaration for the state, releasing additional funds.

The US President stated: “I just approved an expedited request for a Major Disaster Declaration for the State of California. Wanted to respond quickly in order to alleviate some of the incredible suffering going on. I am with you all the way. God Bless all of the victims and families affected.”

Meanwhile the death toll continued to rise, with 44 lives now lost already.

It is the highest forest fires death toll in the history of the United States, which takes over the sad record of the fire at Griffith Park in Los Angeles in 1933, killing 29 civilians.

The authorities expect this number to increase as more than 200 people are still reported missing. The search team looking for human remains has been expanded and now includes dogs.

In Malibu, many celebrity homes were burnt to the ground. Movie star Gerard Butler posted a picture on his Twitter account of his home which was lost to the flames.

Another belonged to legendary rocker Neil Young, who blasted the US President and blamed climate change.

Over the weekend, in a tweet posted on 10 November, US president Donald Trump had blamed California’s “gross mismanagement of the forests” for the damage caused by the wildfires in northern and southern California. He then continued to imply that federal funding would be withdrawn if the situation was not rectified.

In a post on his website, Mr Young responded: “California is vulnerable – not because of poor forest management as DT (our so-called president) would have us think. We are vulnerable because of climate change; the extreme weather events and our extended drought is part of it.”

Yeahhh, I'm with trump on this one. If the do gooders "save the trees" dimwits kept their bs to themselves, and the councils were given the freedom to manage the undergrowth and forestry, the chances are these fires would be long under control by now. Instead it was save the trees and let the people and homes burn. But at least they were able to control nature and preserve it right?. Oh! Wait!!! Smgdh

STOP ! Federal Insurance and disaster loans to areas where proper safe guards Forestry Measures are not followed, thus making the areas unsafe and fire hazards.

The Plus side from what we are seeing is … it would force some of the UBER LIBERAL Hollywood to live down in the Metro-messes they are always promoting.

Horse Shit.. For decades your fire fighter haven't been allowed to do clean burns or even maintain the fire roads that are now grown over .. If you pick up a dead log in your forest you get arrested because a family of ants might be living in it..

I hope Mr. Young will remember…

Grown-up men don't need him around anyhow.

As a California native I disagree with the Fed granting help. These fires all could have been avoided at best & should have been controllable & small at worst. These fat cat politicians are to blame & need to be held both financially & criminally responsible, for this great loss of life & property!

Gross mismanagement is the cause, from PG&E to the Dept. of Forestry. Rich politicians skimming $ that should be used for public safety & infrastructure are the cause.

Neil Young once declared that Rock and Roll Will Never Die. I suggest that if all of it consisted of his whiny shit, Rock and Roll would be long dead.

Climate Change BS.

===========

It is clearly a failure caused by the Calif. State over the top Green Laws that prohibit the proper clearing of death wood, trimming back vegetation even on private property.
