Man Tasked to Babysit Sister, Cousins All Below 10-Years-Old Was Behind Their Murders

Three young girls under the age of 10 were found horrifically murdered in their home in Clinton, a Maryland suburb of Washington, D.C. A day after the investigations, the authorities have identified the suspect who happens to be the brother of one girl and the cousin of two others.

Prince Geroge’s County police have identified Antonio Williams who was supposed to be caring for his 6-year-old sister and two young cousins as his mother was working as an overnight shift nurse.

The mother, Andrena Kelley, came home to their Clinton residence early Friday morning to find the gruesome scene- the bodies of her daughter, 6-year-old Nadira Janae’ Withers, and cousins who happened to be only visiting at that time- Ariana Elizabeth DeCree, 9, and Ajayah Royale Decree, 6, brutally stabbed in a basement bedroom.

Williams, 25, did not flee, and later confessed to the horrific murders. But the police said it remains a mystery to them as to what could have prompted Williams to carry out the gruesome murders against his own family members, and against such innocent and helpless children as his young sister and cousins. Investigators said they are still looking for a motive for Williams who marked his birthday on Saturday.

It is also curious why Williams spared the life of another sister, the youngest at 2-years-old who was found unharmed in the home.

Assistant Prince Geroge’s County Police Chief Hector Velez said that the killings had a shaking effect and impact even on hardened officers and first responders that they were given counseling after the incident.

Velez said: “Incidents like these are not easy to handle. As parents, aunts, uncles, and siblings of young children, it hurts us as well. Our initial thought is to want to hug our children, but we know we have to put those feelings aside and remain steadfast in finding who the killer is and telling the story that these three children cannot tell.”

Autopsies are being performed on the girls’ bodies. The police said all three young girls were found lying in a single bed suffering from puncture wounds and lacerations while Williams was the only adult in the home at the time.

The DeCree sisters were only visiting for the summer from Newark. Their mother and Nadira’s mother are first cousins.
