As our country is overwhelmed by yet another controversy, this time over monuments dedicated to Civil War icons,
we must ask ourselves: "Does erasing the legacy of Civil War heroes make America a better place?".
Are we embodying the American Spirit, or Stifling it?
For once, I have to say, I'm proud of President Trump.
His handlers handed him some transportation crap to talk about days after this controversy began and instead he spoke his mind.

I didn't vote in our last election. I didn't feel a single politician had a position that was helpful to our country at the time,
Moreover, the popular vote doesn't elect anyone. Literally, it has NO effect.
So, let me be clear when I say I'm not a big fan of Trump, but somehow he's the only person who's had anything intelligent to say about this whole ordeal.
Somehow, a Yankee from New York in charge of the Federal Government is the only important person defending the last monuments to a time when the Southern States could oppose the Federal government.
He and the ACLU are the only people defending the rights of controversial people to freely assemble, even if their beliefs are misguided or what you'd consider to be flat-out wrong.
The constant negative press Trump has endured for his bravery in speaking his mind reflects a broader problem in America right now.
We are afraid to openly speak our minds, even amongst our friends because we have created an environment of race-shaming.
If you disagree with the mainstream's view on these monuments and you happen to be white then your views are irrelevant…because you're white!
If you disagree with "Affirmative Action" which causes workplaces to discriminate on the basis of race in favor of "minorities" in flagrant violation of the "Equal Protection" clause of the fourteenth amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America, You're a racist!
If you hit a violent Leftist mob with your car because they start attacking you, you're a Nazi terrorist!

Can we not see that the boy who crashed his car into a crowd of protestors did so because he was attacked by a mob of people who surrounded his car and smashed his windows in?
How old was he? 19! We're going to charge a kid with domestic terrorism after he accidentally drove into one of the worst road obstacles of all time - an angry mob.
And what does the Attorney General, Jeff Sessions have to say? "You can be sure we will charge and advance the investigation towards the most serious charges that can be brought because this is unequivocally an unacceptable evil attack,”
That sounds pretty biased to me! Who gets to decide what crimes are "Evil" or not? The Attorney General? The Mob?
If a scared 19-year-old in fear of his life from a mob of people is a domestic terrorist for hitting them with his car as they blocked the road and surrounded his car.
Then so are the people breaking the law dragging down the statues of Confederate Icons on public property.
And for that matter, so were the "Sons of Liberty" who threw 342 crates of tea into a harbor in Boston because they were opposed to tax laws of the time!
So were the men who built our God damned country, Every great American Hero of the Revolution.
And definitely, the Leftist Antifa that showed up at the monument protests armed with clubs and shields.
America, let's just take a breath and a step back from this ledge we're on right now.
Can't we just talk about this?
Can't we just let the Nazis (Or whoever) have their little rally and NOT show up with clubs and have armed conflicts on the streets of our cities?
I think everybody needs to just calm down and rethink this a little bit.
Please stop smashing our statues in the meantime.
