A man tried to grab a 12-year-old child in Canton, Georgia, and now the authorities are hunting the suspect down.
The child was just walking leisurely in his subdivision Tuesday when he was nearly kidnapped by the stranger. The child shares that the man in a car just pulled up next to him. The man then told the child that his mother was supposedly sick at the hospital and sent “them” were there to pick up the boy.
Good thing the boy knew better. The child shared: “I said that my mom just called me and she was inside, and she wanted to tell me something.”
With that information, the man simply just drove off. The man was described by the child as having long, black hair and behind the wheels of a newer model, four-door black car with tinted windows.
The mother went crazy when the child informed her about the terrifying incident. Her child called her while she was at the grocery store, and immediately told him to call the police to report the incident.
The mother is also relieved that she has taught him well, that is why he held his own against a potential predator. She said: “I taught him right and wrong, and what to say, and what to do if any attempts like this do happen.”
When informed of the incident, the Canton police said that based on the word “them” indicates the possibility that there was more than one person in the car. The child could not establish that as the car used was heavily tinted.
Police are investigating the matter and going around the neighborhood for surveillance video.
The mother hopes the man who tried to abduct his child would soon be located, arrested and charged. She also issued a warning to the man, potential kidnapper and possibly a sex predator or offender. The mother said: “I hope you’re caught and you better hope I don’t see you before the police do.”
Anyone with information about the man should immediately contact the Canton police to help solve the case.
