A reality TV show in Ukraine is airing an episode which makes Jerry Spring seem as innocent as Dora the Explorer. In it, they will reveal whether the daughter of a 12-year-old schoolgirl is the result of an incest rape by her either her father, or her two brothers. All three family members of have undergone DNA testing. The stepfather, Ivan Eremin, her brother, Volodya and her step-brother Viktor all deny that they are the baby's father. Tanya previously thought was their 18-year-old neighbor but DNA testing has since proved that false. Now, Tanya's mother Anna says that her daughter claims it was likely a member of their own family who raped her but she refuses to identify which one it was. Her mother Anna says, " … she [Tanya] told me there was one more person. I asked her to tell me the truth. It happened in February when I was in hospital with my newborn daughter Viktoria. I don’t want to give the name. It is a person from our family. But it may not be him. I should not say this but I don’t know now if I can trust my daughter. She says one thing, then another thing, as if she doesn’t know herself. She pointed at Andriy before and I attacked him. I don’t know what to do now.” 12-year-old Tanya was discovered to be pregnant after accompanying her mother to the doctor who noticed her belly and requested a scan to confirm if she was pregnant, sure enough she was.
A neighbor of the family said, "All of us could see that Tanya was pregnant. We told her mother many times about it, I told her, other women told her. She did not take any action. I even told [stepfather] Ivan: ‘Your Tanya is pregnant’." The accused family members have been harassed constantly since the ordeal was revealed on the show and the Lviv regional police have now opened a criminal investigation into the rape of the young girl.
