Huge Victory for GOP: Two-Year Deal to Fund US Government Reached

||| Local 9 DC |||

The Republican Party under President Trump just continues to win. After last year's historic tax reform and deregulation as per rolling back the Obama Administration's failed policies, the Democrats have had nothing left to stop the GOP outside of allowing a government shutdown, and today, the GOP has announced a two-year deal to prevent that from happening again.

It appears as if the Democrats may now be forced to the bargaining table on DACA as well, with no chips left to place their bets with, now that any government shutdown has been averted.

Both side of the aisle in the Senate including Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) unveiled the deal with Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) announced the deal which is set to boost the military budget and also increase non-defense spending by $300 billion over the next two years.

The Budget Agreement today is so important for our great Military. It ends the dangerous sequester and gives Secretary Mattis what he needs to keep America Great. Republicans and Democrats must support our troops and support this Bill!
— Donald J. In the package also comes a much-needed $80 billion in disaster relief which will last through two additional hurricane seasons.

Experts suggest that around $160 billion of the new deal would go to the Pentagon, and $128 billion would to non-defense programs which enforce and protect national security.

The bipartisan budget agreement will fund new grants, prevention programs, and law enforcement efforts in vulnerable communities across the country struggling against the #opioidcrisis and substance abuse.
— Leader McConnell (@SenateMajLdr) February 7, 2018

"I am pleased to announce that our bipartisan, bicameral negotiations on defense spending and other priorities have yielded a significant agreement," McConnell said.

There are also numerous additions to social-welfare programs and funding to help fight the opioid epidemic tearing families apart all across the United States of America.

The debt-ceiling will still be reached sometime next month, leaving some room for bargaining with the GOP if they're wanting the Democrats to come to the table on DACA and work-out a deal, which most see as unlikely before the 2018 midterms despite the desire from President Trump to complete the process.

Democrats are stuck in a hard place right now, with their far-left base angry if they fund the wall, and the illegal aliens infuriated that they're not being given amnesty by the party which they vote for in the first place.

The most hilarious and somewhat entertaining part of the entire agreement is the fact that 77-year-old House Minority Leaders Nancy Pelosi (R-CA) stood on the floor of the House for nearly 8 hours decrying the agreement all while her counterpart in Chuck Schumer was touting it in the Senate.

.@RepRooney on Nancy Pelosi saying no budget deal without a DACA fix: "We found out a couple weeks ago that the American people want their government funded more than they care for DACA." pic.twitter.com/MvsbAZfsFF
— EAGLE WINGS (@NIVIsa4031) February 8, 2018

Despite Nancy Pelosi's grandstanding, the funding agreement has been reached, without any additional amnesty or DACA deals.

President Trump has made clear there will be no bill signed by his Administration on DACA without funding for the heavily promised "Border Wall" along America's southern boundaries.
