Iranian Aseman Airlines has just informed all family members of those traveling on board their plane that was en route from Tehran to the south-western city of Yasuj the devastating news.
The aircraft came down in the Zagros mountains, unfortunately killing all 66 people on board.
Airline spokesman, Mr Mohammad Tabatabai explained: "After searches in the area, unfortunately we were informed that the plane crashed. Unfortunately, all our dear ones lost their lives in this incident."

According to an Iranian news channel, the aircraft crashed on Dena Mountain some 14 miles from its final destination Yasuj,
The Red Crescent (the Islamic equivalent of the Red Cross) had tried to get to the crash site but said it was hampered by bad weather in the area.

Just last week a plane from Russian Saratov Airlines crashed, leaving 71 people killed. The plane was an Antonov An-148.
