Germany - Manhunt For Iranian Migrant Who Stabbed German Woman In Düsseldorf

Police in the German city of Dusseldorf started a manhunt for a 44-year-old Iranian migrant known as Ali S. who stabbed a 36-year-old German woman in front of her own front door on Monday and then fled the scene. She was transported to the hospital but died Monday evening.

The police statement at the time read: "On Monday morning, a witness alerted the police and reported that a man on Bach Street had attacked and injured a woman with a knife. An ambulance took the critically injured 36-year-old woman to a clinic where she could not be rescued despite all the efforts of the doctors."

Düsseldorf police admitted on Tuesday morning that they have started a manhunt for the murderer, identified as 44-year-old Ali S from Iran. They did not give any details to his motive and said he had fled from his apartment which they broke into Monday evening.

The events come on top of the online uproar over German media’s handling of the outrage that has followed the stabbing of an Offenburg doctor by a Somali asylum seeker.

Meanwhile, regional Justice Minister Mr. Guido Wolf (of Ms. Angela Merkel’s own CDU) warned about the political outcome of the Offenburg murder and the media’s response (both ARD and ZDF have refused to show the event during their evening news).

The rightwing AfD has planned another demonstration in Offenburg for Wednesday as social media is filled with anger over both the government and the media’s handling of the event.
