Lil Peep had a promising musical career ahead. His popularity has been rising since 2015 via a series of Soundcloud tracks, EPs, and mixtapes. He also enjoyed full traction through his well-followed YouTube channel where his videos to “Awful Things”, “Benz Truck”, “The Brightside” and others generated multiple millions of views.

He created a lot of buzz along the way. Peep also signed with agent Cara Lewis and enthusiastic features followed in Fader, Noisey and Pitchfork, which later on declared him as “the future of emo.”

The medium also wrote a three-part profile on him, predicting that, “it’s obvious Peep is going to blow up.”

His debut album, Come Over When You’re Sober showcased all his skills in rapping, singing, his comfort in both the hip-hop and emo styles.

Fellow musicians flooded social media with their tributes for their fallen colleague and friend. Dutch dance music producer Marshmello said: “Peep was the nicest person. Hanging out with him, talking to him about music, the song ideas we were going to do together and touring was so amazing. Everyone will miss you, man.”

I cant even believe this. We were just talking last week about working on a song together and now you’re gone.
