The two new titles are set to mix the approachable augmented reality of the hit mobile app with a more in-depth mainline role-playing experience. The makers of the game hinted that a bit of nostalgia will be mixed in as well. It will be based on a combination of the first-generation 1998 game Pokemon Yellow and the latest mobile iteration Pokemon Go.
The Pokémon Company also released a new game called Pokemon Quest on Tuesday and it's free to download and play for Nintendo Switch. The company's latest release adds a new twist to the world of Pokemon and takes place in a world called Tumblecube Island. Here on the island, you will find voxel-style Pokemon roaming for treasure, food, and friendly fights. Pokemon Quest also allows players to customize and build base camps which can help them find new Pokemon to add to their ranks.

The Pokemon Company director Junichi Masuda said, "I wanted to bring the fun of this more intuitive, as well as widely accepted and popular, Pokémon-catching gameplay, right back to the Pokémon main series RPGs. Not only have we managed to make these titles great entry games for those who are new to the Pokémon RPG series, but at the same time really provide a new and fresh experience that fans of the series will enjoy." The "all-new core series" is in development and is expected to release in late 2019.
