Snitching creates an entire culture shift in society. My husband is from a former communist country. I used to joke at how guarded and evasive he and his family is. Now i see the value in not being so open and transparent since Covid hit. I visited his country and this avoidance of small talk is evident decades later. No small talk, no casual conversations at the registar. The subway was silent.
Snitching will have a dramatic impact on how we as Americans will interact. We're known for being warm, open and welcoming in America ( think southern hospitality ).
We will be forever changed.
