Musk conducted a 12-hour Twitter poll asking users to choose a Senate Majority Leader among Senators John Thune, John Cornyn, Rick Scott, and an "Other" option. Senator Rick Scott received 65.5% of the 1,088,220 votes. The poll reached 20 million users and was pinned to Elon Musk's profile for visibility.
Following the poll, Elon Musk endorsed Rick Scott, tweeting: "Rick Scott for Senate Majority Leader!" Scott messaged: "100% agree. I will do whatever it takes to get your nominations through as quickly as possible." The exchange garnered 174,000 likes, 33,000 retweets, and 5,900 comments, with a reach of 23 million users.
Senators will have a difficult time explaining their pursuit of any other choice.
