In yet another tragic chapter of the Biden administration’s disgraceful legacy, a sadistic child murderer — who should have been executed years ago — may finally face justice in Louisiana. This comes after Joe Biden used one of his last acts in office to rescue the man from death row, along with 36 other violent predators.
Thomas Sanders, now 67, kidnapped and executed 12-year-old Lexis Roberts after murdering her mother. He was the first person to receive the federal death penalty in the Western District of Louisiana in over 100 years — and rightly so. But Biden thought this monster deserved mercy.
Biden’s now-infamous mass commutation spared 37 of 40 federal death row inmates, many of them child rapists, killers, and terrorists. For families of the victims, it was a grotesque betrayal. For the American people, it was a reminder of which side this administration truly stood on — and it wasn’t the side of law-abiding citizens or murdered children.
But justice might finally be served. On Monday, a grand jury in Catahoula Parish indicted Sanders on state charges, giving Louisiana prosecutors a second chance to seek the death penalty — and to correct Biden’s moral failure.
“I found it outrageous that President Biden would use this clemency power to commute the sentence of the child killer,” said Catahoula Parish District Attorney Brad Burget. “This is a 12-year-old who watched her mother be brutally killed by Mr. Sanders. Then, he kidnapped her, drove her across the country, shot her three times in the head, once in the chest — and slit her throat with a homemade knife.”
Let that sink in. A child watched her mother be murdered, was kidnapped, tortured, and then executed like an animal. And Joe Biden thought that killer deserved to live.
The Crime That Should Haunt Biden’s Presidency
Sanders met Lexis’ mother, Suellen Roberts, in Las Vegas in 2010. Just two months into dating, he took Suellen and Lexis on a road trip. Somewhere off the beaten path in the Arizona desert, he murdered Suellen, then held 12-year-old Lexis captive for days, driving her from Arizona to Louisiana.
When he finally reached Catahoula Parish, he executed the child in cold blood, dumped her body in the woods, and disappeared. It took weeks before hunters discovered her remains. Sanders was later arrested at a Mississippi truck stop.
This wasn’t a moment of rage. It was planned, deliberate, and evil — the work of a man with no remorse and no soul.
But Biden Let Him Live
In a move that left prosecutors, victims’ families, and the American public in disbelief, Biden wiped out Sanders’ death sentence with the stroke of a pen. Why? Because leftist activists insisted that capital punishment was “racist” and “inhumane” — even when applied to people who murder children and slit their throats.
“The federal prosecutor got justice for Lexis,” said DA Burget. “Then Joe Biden decided to undo that — with the signing of his signature. I don’t understand why.”
There is no explanation that makes sense. Biden didn’t commute these sentences because the men were innocent. He did it because he believed even the worst of humanity deserves mercy, while the victims are forgotten in their graves.
Louisiana Fights Back
With no justice at the federal level, Catahoula Parish is stepping up. DA Burget took the case to a grand jury this week, securing an indictment on state charges that will once again make Sanders eligible for execution.
“I think we’ll be successful,” Burget said. “I’ll put it in the hands of a jury. And I believe the jury will make the right decision.”
And this time, there’s no president to swoop in and save the killer.
The Blood Is on Biden’s Hands
This isn’t just about one man. Biden’s mass commutation freed some of the most violent criminals America has ever known from the punishment they earned through unthinkable acts of violence.
Thomas Sanders is a name Americans should never forget — not just for his crimes, but for what his case reveals about an administration that would rather appease radicals than honor the dead.
The Roberts family was robbed of justice. The American people were slapped in the face. And Joe Biden will be remembered as the man who spared the lives of monsters.
