Heartbreaking news coming out of Texas tonight with reports of one of America's Border Patrol Agents losing their lives in the line of duty.
This terrible tragedy occurred tonight around the Big Bend Sector in Texas when 36-year-old Agent Rogelio Martinez was responding to what is being referred to as “activity” near Interstate 10 in the Van Horn Station area along with his partner.
Agent Martinez’s partner reported that they were both injured and in need of assistance. Responding agents provided immediate medical care, and transported both agents to a local hospital.
Big Bend Sector was later told that Agent Martinez expired from his injuries. His partner remains in the local hospital in serious condition.
This is shocking and outright appalling at this point. The GOP who has failed to produce and actual results in pushing President Donald Trump's agenda forward by building the wall now has the blood of these two men on their hands.

Martinez had been a border agent since August 2013 and was from El Paso.
Border Patrol records show that Big Bend has accounted for about 1 percent of the more than 61,000 apprehensions its agents made along the Southwest border between October 2016 and May 2017.
The region’s mountains and the Rio Grande make it a difficult area for people to cross illegally into the U.S. from Mexico.
A shocking 38 Border Patrol agents have died since the year 2003, some of them attacked while working along the border, and other fatalities in traffic accidents.
According to the<a href="https://www.cbp.gov/newsroom/local-media-release/border-patrol-agent-big-bend-sector-killed-line-duty"> Customs and Border Patrol </a>website, the two agents were hit during what appears to be a gun battle (unconfirmed at this time) in the area, and now Border Patrol agents from Big Bend Sector and the Culberson County Sheriff’s Department have secured the scene.
The Border Patrol’s Special Operations Group and agents from CBP’s Air and Marine Operations are searching the area for potential suspects or witnesses.
The Culberson County Sheriff’s Department, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Office of Inspector General, and CBP’s Office of Professional Responsibility are investigating.
Congress must immediately act and get the wall built before another American loses their lives at the hands of these crazed and deranged cartel lunatics.
Douglas T. Mosier from CBP Office of Public Affairs confirmed Agent Martinez’ hometown was El Paso, he was 36 years old and entered on duty with the Border Patrol on 8/12/2013.
I'd like to offer my personal condolences to the family of Agent Martinez during this time of great grief.
The GOP has failed you, and we the people recognize this.
