Roy Moore, the Republican nominee for a United States Senate seat, was strongly endorsed by president Trump Monday prompting the Republican National Committee to restore its support for the candidate.
The endorsement from the president bolstered the candidate on Twitter when Trump tweeted, "Democrats refusal to give even one vote for massive Tax Cuts is why we need Republican Roy Moore to win in Alabama. We need his vote on stopping crime, illegal immigration, Border Wall, Military, Pro-Life, V.A., Judges 2nd Amendment and more."

The move comes a day after Senator Mitch McConnell, the Republican leader, backtracked on his previous criticism of Moore and instead said voters "should make the call." Despite many senior Republicans renewing support for the candidate, the sexual abuse allegations still leave their mark.
Mitt Romney, the parties presidential nominee in 2012, still adamantly spoke against Moore saying he would be "a stain" on the Republicans and country. "No vote, no majority is worth losing our honor, our integrity," Romney said on Twitter.

The heat surrounding Moore isn't stopping his race from gaining momentum among Alabama's Christian voters. Mr. Moore has begun to stable out in the polls and no new women have come forward. The forgiving nature of Christianity will probably mean in the long haul more will be willing than not to forgive Moore of the accusations.

Even the women who have come forward to claim inappropriate encounters with Moore, such as Beverly Young Nelson, are largely scrutinized and don't seem to hold up upon close examination of body language. In the end, it is the voters who will decide and so far they are taking note of the President's endorsement which certainly factors into their votes.
