Snowfall has now covered large parts of the Deep South, as well as Southern Texas, to the obvious delight of many schoolchildren.

The hashtag #TexasSnow2017 was soon trending in the state.
For the first time since 2009, the cities of San Antonio, Corpus Christi and Houston have seen snow
Mr David Nadler, a meteorologist at the National Weather Service, knew exactly that this would instill a certain amount of stress for local residents:
“It’s the first snow of the season and any time you even mention snow in the South, you’re going to get people a little panicky.”

For San Antonio, the 2 inches of snow were the largest amount to fall in that city since January 1987.
10-year-old Vincent Rivera of Corpus Christi, who experienced snow for the first time, thought the whole experience was ‘pretty cool’: “My mom has been to places like Chicago and Washington, D.C., when it’s snowing, and she would tell me about it and I wish I could be there to see it.”
We do hope that everyone got to see it, as temperatures are meant to be rising as form Saturday afternoon again, with sunnier weather coming up.
