President Donald Trump released a video in which he addresses the growing problem of immigrant gangs, more precisely he spoke about MS-13 and detailed several horrific stories.

Mr Trump stated that his White House would put forward a plan to Congress to deal with these issues.

President Trump: “My Administration has identified three major priorities for creating a safe, modern and lawful immigration system: fully securing the border, ending chain migration, and canceling the visa lottery. Congress must secure the immigration system and protect Americans.”

Furthermore, the US President also addressed the issue of DACA (the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program) for which he urged the Democrats to act whilst stating that he believes the Republicans are the only ones really wanting a solution for this pressing issue. Mr Trump said: “Republicans want to fix DACA far more than the Democrats do. The Dems had all three branches of government back in 2008-2011, and they decided not to do anything about DACA. They only want to use it as a campaign issue. Vote Republican!”

You will remember that the effort to extend DACA's protections was what caused the three-day government shutdown last month, when Democrats, led by Senate minority leader Mr Chuck Shumer, refused to back a short-term spending bill that did not include a solution this this issue.
