Did FBI Director Comey Brief Obama on Flynn Wiretap?

The House Intelligence Committee held a hearing with FBI Director James Comey today. President Trump sent a video clip saying that Comey refused to deny he briefed President Obama on calls made by Michael Flynn to Russia.

President Donald Trump didn't hesitate to speak out :

@RealDonaldTrump: “FBI Director Comey says classified leaks to the media have been “unusually active” recently.”

@RealDonaldTrump: “FBI Director Comey refuses to deny he briefed President Obama on calls made by Michael Flynn to Russia.”

The tweets were made while the hearing was going on. They pointed out the Comey’s comments. This prompted the FBI Director to push back on one claim when questioned about it. When asked about the White House Twitter claim later in the hearing, He said it was not his intention to say that Russia didn't influence the election since the issue was not looked at. Here they are:

Comey further said that the FBI has has no opinion, has no view and has no information on a potential impact because it was considered at the time.

Another tweet came from the White House through tweets from Trump's @POTUS account about the hearing 90 minutes into the event. “What about all of the contact with the Clinton campaign and the Russians? Also, is it true that the DNC would not let the FBI in to look?,” Trump tweeted.

Comey also said that he has 'no information' that supports Trump's tweets that President Obama directed wiretapping of Trump at Trump Tower. He did not say, however, if wiretapping of other individuals at Trump tower occurred.

Trump wrote that the NSA and FBI told Congress that Russia did not influence electoral process. He attached a video clip of NSA Director Admiral Michael Rogers, who was questioned by the Republican chairman of the Intelligence panel, Rep. Devin Nunes.

Another tweet from Trump said that Comey refuses to deny he briefed Obama on calls made by Michael Flynn to Russia.

The tweet featured a clip of questioning by Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.), who asked Comey whether he briefed President Obama on 'any calls involving Michael Flynn,' Trump's former National Security Advisor who got fired following revelations about his Russia ties.

In response, Comey said he wouldn't get into that case or any conversations he had with the president. The FBI Director severally emphasized that he wouldn't confirm information about conversations with the president or confirm anything that might reveal classified information.
