Nothing highlights the double standard between young men and woman more than the experience of Benjamin Glaze when he competed on American Idol. The 19-year-old was on stage singing on the game show when judge Katy Perry kissed him on the lips, his first kiss ever.
Glaze described the kiss as "uncomfortable" and he said he had never been kissed prior and hoped his first time would be special. Instead, what he got was a washed-up pop star forcing him into the awkward smooch on national television, not quite the way he imagined his first kiss to go.
What is so repulsive about Perry's actions is that he was neither consulted prior to the kiss nor did she ask permission, something that would likely see criminal charges filed if the sexes were reversed. If Randy Jackson had approached a teen singer on the show and forcibly kissed her on the lips unannounced there would be a public outrage.
Glaze said he never consented to the kiss and if he was asked in the first place he would have refused. The young male singer is from a conservative background and admitted the kiss made him very uncomfortable. "I wanted to save it for my first relationship," Glaze said. "I wanted it to be special. Would I have done it if she said, 'Would you kiss me?' No, I would have said 'no'."
He continued adding, "I know a lot of guys would be like, 'Heck yeah!' he continued. "But for me, I was raised in a conservative family and I was uncomfortable immediately. I wanted my first kiss to be special. It was lip contact vs. a romantic situation with someone you care about," he said. "That's what a real first kiss is."
Glaze was denied the opportunity to experience his first kiss with a person he loved because of a lunatic Hollywood pop star forcing her lips on his. While a kiss may seem relativity minor, it still qualifies as sexual assault in my opinion.
When American Idol judge Luke Bryan asked Glaze during his audition, "Have you kissed a girl and liked it?" Glaze responded, "No, I’ve never been in a relationship. I can’t kiss a girl without being in a relationship." Perry knew that the young man standing before her was saving the experience to share with someone he loved, and that was his choice until she forcibly took that away from him.
"Really? Come here," Perry said as she gestured for him to come closer. "What, on the cheek?" Glaze asked as he hesitantly walked over to her and gave her a peck on the cheek. Perry replied, "You didn’t even make the 'smush' sound." She ordered Glaze to give her a second kiss on the cheek but when he went to kiss her she quickly turned his head and kissed him on the lips.
The other judges celebrated and high-fived one another before Bryan asked Perry, "Did you get him?" She replies, "Yeah I got him." This type of behavior would not be acceptable if Glaze was a young girl and it is depressing to see the so-called stars joke and mock the young man's morals.
Viewers took to Twitter to express their own sentiment about what transpired on the show.

The double standard is so unevenly applied, especially in Hollywood, that this type of behavior is deemed acceptable. There are numerous #MeToo lawsuits stemming from males in positions of authority over female coworkers who did less than Perry did. This was not a consensual act and it was not appropriate considering Perry holds the young man's future in her hands.

He fell for the Jewish tricks. Hopefully he gets lots of cash in his settlement.
Sorry but you want me to believe that here is a 19 y/o Male stage performer that has not been kissed?
The odds of that say I just won the Powerball lottery
def a double standard. if it had been a male kissing a female, all hell would break loose.
<20694> You took the words right off my keyboard.
Just imagine a little girl saying shes waiting for her 1st kiss from her true love and some 40 year old guy took that away from her, the libs would be on fire and out for blood!!!
Imagine what would've happened if he'd resisted the kiss, put his hands on her to push her away, etc. Shitlibs would be #MeTooing the shit out of him right now and screeching about muh rape culture
Why is the "first kiss" anything special in the first place? Don't kids do these things from 12 on up?
What a bitch, "oh, you want to save your first kiss for true love? Fuck that, I'll just kiss you anyway."
Seriously? Libtard hollywood scum
