France - President Macron And Unions Face Off In Widespread Strikes

Just as the US starts a trade war with China, President Macron in France gave the unions his warning shot as a strike war is about to start over there.

Ever since President Emmanuel Macron’s election last year which saw the socialist left decimate in the polls, everyone in France knew very well that the government would go after the obtained rights of government workers.

The French press has been waiting for a year now as President Macron and the highly powerful workers unions face off (just like US President Ronald Reagan did in the 1980s against the air traffic controllers and UK Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher against coal miners during her period in office).

The unions know deep down they need to reform given the changing economy around them, but they won’t give up without a fight. It’s the French way.

As from yesterday, the fight is on, starting with a crippling of French rail services, to be followed by airport strikes today.

Yesterday already, seven different worker’s unions representing staff in the French public sector led nationwide strikes and protests whilst a third of railway workers walked out to join the demonstrations. Various European-wide rail lines were canceled (Thalys, Eurostar).

Some 200,000 people demonstrated including 49,000 in Paris. Although the numbers were smaller than against previous anti-labor reform demonstrations, the effects for commuters were still disastrous.

Did you notice the "CHE" flag in the crowd ?

This a Communist/Socialist Protest.

Che Guevara was a Communist that MURDERED 1000's to promote his idea of Public CONTROL?

Che’s own quoted words “A revolutionary must become a cold killing machine motivated by pure hate.”
