France - 2,500 Police Sent To Clear Ecologist Camp (Video)

The French government, after some 50 years of standoff, sent 2,500 police and military personnel overnight to the illegally occupied Notre-Dame-Des-Landes zone with the order to evacuate all the people that have been camping there for years now.

The story is that back in 1965 already the French state needed a new site for an airport to be built around the city of Nantes. Three years later, in 1968, the site of Notre-Dame-Des-Landes is chosen, but young people in the area resist the site to be used and start building tree-houses and growing their own food, essentially occupying the area.

For years on end, the government tries to get them out via the courts and other means, but all fails.

Now, since a week, President Macron’s government had made it known to the squatters that he had enough and would evacuate them with force if necessary.
