A euthanasia expert has unveiled his latest machine designed to bring an easy, quick, and painless death to anyone with the press of a button. The suicide machine was 3D-printed by Dr. Philip Nitschke who opened up his latest suicide-assisting machine "Sarco" (short for sarcophagus) to the public at Amsterdam's Funeral Fair.

Anyone will be able to try the machine out for themselves, but it isn't lethal yet. In fact, this machine offers a virtual reality experience that offers users a glimpse into how the suicide machine works. Dr. Nitschke plans to release the 3D-printing plans online by next year so that anyone can assemble the machine anywhere. The intent is to "allow a person a peaceful passing" at a location and time of their choice.
A complex, online system has been developed to allow users of the real deal to fill out an online test that will gauge their mental fitness. If they pass the test, they will then be given an access code valid for 24 hours. They will then need to enter the code and then another confirmation from the user must be given. The Sarco machine is designed to sit on a generator that uses liquid nitrogen. When the liquid nitrogen is released, the level of oxygen goes down which will induce hypoxia.

When the brain experiences too low of oxygen levels the body begins to slowly shut down. The symptoms are confusion, increased heart rate, rapid breathing, shortness of breath, sweating, and wheezing. But the Sarco offers a death with "style and elegance" within just one minute as the user loses consciousness and dies.
Dr. Nitschke wrote, "A Sarco death is painless. There’s no suffocation, choking sensation or 'air hunger' as the user breathes easily in a low-oxygen environment. The sensation is one of well-being and intoxication." Nitschke has been dubbed the "Elon Musk of assisted suicide" and the death machine is his "Tesla". Euthanasia has been a topic of heated debate where proponents argue it is a person's "right to die" as they wish, especially in cases of severe or terminal illness or suffering.
