Texas - Stonebriar Mall ISIS Attack Teen Wanted To “Line Them Up For Execution“

More details have emerged about the 17-year-old who had sworn allegiance to ISIS and planned a terrorist attack in the Stonebriar Mall.

Young Mr. Azizi-Yarand had shared messages with two FBI sources and an FBI agent over a series of five months before he was arrested.

Whereas he at first thought about shooting up his school (on Dec 19th, 2017, he wrote: "A school is a perfect place for an attack. Crowded and close quarters. Lol. Even a blind man could take 10 easily. Just fire where u hear screams"), his attention soon switched to the Stonebriar Mall. He had familiarized himself with the mall's layout, had counted the number of security guards and police cars on patrol at the location and, at an unknown date, visited the crowded mall with one of the confidential FBI sources to familiarize himself better with the layout.

He wrote several messages to the FBI sources about the mall: "Counted 3 security // 1 cop upstairs with an actual gun // In movie theatre area // Yes yes real cop real gun // Not pretend cops // He's not gonna superhero and dome [sic] us all // if you'd want we could take him out first // Shouldn't be a problem."

"I'd probably take them [movie viewers] out into the light // And line them up for execution // Unless they're a kid // Or old."

Authorities got concerned when he switched back to his original idea of shooting up the school late April 2018.

As recently as April 20, the teen sent messages to the FBI undercover employee with their pictures, "describing them as 'sitting ducks' when discussing the possibility of an attack at the school"

In order to inform them best they could, parents of fellow students at the school were informed by email that the final “offense for which the student was arrested was unrelated to Plano West, Plano ISD or any fellow students."
