CNN Refuses To Air Trump: Offended by Mention of "Fake News"

Reports made by CNN on Tuesday indicate that the network is refusing to air a campaign ad from President Donald Trump because the ad refers to the media as fake news.

A request was made by CNN asking the advertiser to remove the false graphic that says mainstream media is fake news. The request was made by CNN's public relations department through a tweet on Tuesday.

The news network emphasized that the mainstream media is not fake news, and therefore the ad is false. It also said that according to its policy, it will be accepted only if that graphic is deleted.

The advertisement was released by President Trump’s campaign on Monday. The ad dismisses questions about whether the administration's first 100 days lived up to the president's promises on the campaign trail.

The ad points out to the list of successes that include the confirmation of Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch, authorization of the Keystone XL Pipeline and eliminated regulations that Trump’s administration has achieved. The ad also blames the media for hiding those accomplishments.

The ad continues to reveal that the above achievements would not be recognized from watching the news. The narrator of the ad emphasizes the above as a group of cable news reporters, including CNN's Wolf Blitzer appear on the screen.

President Trump’s campaign fired back in a statement that said CNN epitomizes the meaning of fake news. In the meantime, the Executive Director Michael Glassner said in a statement that CNN’s move is censorship pure and simple, adding that by rejecting the ad, CNN has proven that it supports censorship is biased and fears an opposing point of view.

However, Glassner pointed out that President Trump’s loyal supporters know the truth, which the mainstream media mislead, misguide, deceive, and distract. Tuesday's agitation is the latest in the clash between Trump and the network, which has become a regular target for Trump.

President Trump was speaking in an interview last month with The Associated Press, he revealed that he longer watches the network because of its perceived unfair coverage. He also has regularly railed against the network on the campaign trail and has not appeared on the network since last August.

However, CNN has been willing to push back on Trump's criticisms in statements standing by its reporters. But the fact remains, American people are conscious of the biased approach that CNN has adopted and hence people can longer be duped.
