An altercation in the parking lot of a Walmart outlet in Gwinnett County late Sunday evening led to the shooting and left one man dead.

Snellville police said that the deadly shooting took place at the Walmart at 1550 Scenic Highway. Investigators are still probing the incident but based from the initial facts they’ve gathered, the victim was driving down one of the lanes in the parking lot when he got involved in a heated argument with the suspect outside his vehicle.

Witnesses said the two parties were fighting over a parking spot.
The suspect then pulled a gun and shot the victim. The one shot fired ultimately killed the victim. Emergency crews arrived and rushed the victim to Gwinnett Medical Hospital, where he was declared dead later.
A witness shared to local media the chaos brought to many shoppers in the area: “Everyone just started running. People were missing their family members, some kids were crying cause they didn’t know where their dad was at.
The shooting also shut down a large portion of the parking lot as police investigated.
The shooter was arrested and taken to the Gwinnett County jail on one count of voluntary manslaughter.
The police have not released the identity of the victim yet as they are still working to notify the immediate family.
The authorities also clarified that after the suspect has been arrested, the area where the shooting took place no longer poses a danger to the public. It can go back to business as usual as the establishment and the shoppers.

Snellville Police Chief Roy Whitehead stated that a "quick altercation" between two GROUPS in the parking lot at the Walmart led to the deadly shooting of a 49-year-old man.
Snellville Police Chief said the altercation began between a woman and the driver of a car in the parking lot. He said the woman’s fiancé pulled a gun and fired one shot, killing the man.
