Michigan Airport Evacuated After Officer Stabbed

In Flint, Michigan a police officer is listing in critical condition after being stabbed at the international Airport.

Authorities from the Transportation Security Administration say that the officer was stabbed multiple times in the back of the neck outside the main terminal.

The Metropolitan Police Twitter account tweeted, “The MSP is on scene at Bishop Airport. The officer is in critical condition Please keep the officer in your prayers. The airport is closed.”

The police have stated the Federal Bureau of Investigation is on the scene to oversee the investigation.

Bishop International Airport posted on their Facebook that the airport had been fully evacuated in a scene of chaos. The post also suggested passengers were safe and to expect flight and travel delays in and out of the facility.

A witness from the scene, Ken Brown, stated to the Associated Press he was dropping his daughter off at the airport when he witnessed the officer bleeding from the neck. He said law enforcement had the suspect pinned to the ground.

"The cop was on his hands and knees bleeding from his neck," Brown said. "I said they need to get him a towel." He went on to say he could see the knife laying there that the suspect was holding.

This is a developing story at this time.
