Ramadan, Long Tradition in America: Pick One

Many media outlets are now pushing the suggestion that President Trump has somehow ended a long tradition in America by stopping the celebration of Ramadan in the White House.

Ramadan.

Long tradition in America.

Pick one and only one.

Ramadan is not now and will never be a tradition in America. The reference these outlets are using is the fact that Thomas Jefferson hosted the Tunisian envoy to the United States, Sidi Soliman Mellimelli, for a White House dinner on December 9th of 1805.

Yes, Thomas Jefferson welcomed the envoy with hospitality and honored their belief system out of respect. That's what American leaders do to foreign visitors. They respect their opinions and beliefs when they're guests.

White House dinners are traditionally served at 3:30 PM Eastern Standard Time. However for this one ceremonial event dinner was served at sunset for the guests.

Jefferson’s hospitality was endless, and he changed a single meal time on a single occasion of honoring his guests which accommodated Mellimelli's observance of Ramadan.

That doesn't mean America is Muslim or ever has been.

Muslims in 2017 only make up .09% (yes nine-tenths of a percent) of the entire American population.

In fact, the media is roaring at this as if President Trump is somehow against “tradition”. That assertion it more comedic than it is legitimate. The President of the United States is not a Muslim. He has no reason to accommodate Ramadan into the White House for him and his own family.

That doesn't mean he doesn't respect Muslims. President Trump actually issued a warm statement to the Muslim allies and citizens of the United States by saying, "Muslims in the United States joined those around the world during the holy month of Ramadan to focus on acts of faith and charity," the statement read. "Now, as they commemorate Eid with family and friends, they carry on the tradition of helping neighbors and breaking bread with people from all walks of life. During this holiday, we are reminded of the importance of mercy, compassion, and goodwill. With Muslims around the world, the United States renews our commitment to honor these values. Eid Mubarak."

Such is a gesture of respect to American Muslims and to our allies across the planet. The media is so obsessed with pushing the ideas of “OH MY GOD DID YOU HEAR THAT TRUMP DID ‘X’ AND TRUMP DID ‘Y’” that the American people are beyond fed up with their antics and obvious fake news propaganda.

The President of the United States is a man of honor, and the assertions that he somehow broke traditional observations of Ramadan is another disgusting and rootless hit piece narrative with nothing to hold the tree of lies into the soil.

The media tried to do the same thing to Secretary of State Rex Tillerson in early May. Claiming he refused to host an annual Ramadan reception.

In fact, there was nothing scheduled with the Secretary of State in attendance with any Muslims who were observing Ramadan at that time for him to even do so.

Rex Tillerson also offered his own message to American Muslims and our Muslim allies saying, “Best wishes to all Muslims celebrating Eid al-Fitr.This holiday marks the culmination of Ramadan, a month in which many experience meaning and inspiration in acts of fasting, prayer, and charity," Tillerson said in the statement. "This day offers an opportunity to reflect on our shared commitment to building peaceful and prosperous communities. Eid Mubarak."

The media however which is fervently Anti-Trump won't tell you this and continue to attack the President and his Administration with such pathetic rhetoric that the American people actually hate them. Yes, I mean that we hate the media. It disgusts us.

In the memoirs of former President John Quincy Adams, he wrote "I dined at the President's, in company with the Tunisian Ambassador and his two secretaries," Adams, at the time a senator from Massachusetts, wrote in his diary on Dec. 9, 1805. "By the invitation, dinner was to have been on the table precisely at sunset, it being in the midst of Ramadan, during which the Turks fast while the sun is above the horizon. Did not arrive until half an hour after sunset, and, immediately after greeting the President and the company, proposed to retire and smoke his pipe."

Note the phrase” dinner was to have been on the table precisely at sunset, it being in the midst of Ramadan, during which the Turks fast while the sun is above the horizon” he specifically mentions the dinner was to embrace the envoy in their traditions, not his own or America’s, as a sign of hospitality.

At this point, I want to believe the media received their daily talking points from George Soros with the same narratives they continue to push in a coordinated fashion. What's sad is they assume Americans are actually gullible enough to fall for their nonsense.

In fact, after that dinner, Ramadan dinner times weren't observed again until 1996, when Hillary Clinton was the First Lady. In February of 1996, Hillary Clinton invited 150 people for a reception for Eid al-Fitr, which marks the end of the “holy month”.

This is a little-known fact to most Americans who simply do not give a damn about Ramadan or Muslim traditions, even if they respect the fact that leaders accommodate their guests with hospitality. We just do not care.

The fact that the media is even trying to LARP about this at all only shows us how pathetic their dying attacks have become. They've lost every vicious attack they've spewed and continue to be discredited as misleading and deceptive.

Note to the American lügenpresse fake news media, just one word, stop.
