Pentagon Plans To Invest Billions In Undersea Drone Network

Owe unto the taxpayers, there has been indisputable evidence of continuous financial waste of economic resources by the Pentagon network of defense contractors. Surprisingly, Pentagon won’t stop the large spending that it has been undertaking. Pentagon’s plans are projected for the long-term subjecting the taxpayer’s money into future generations of debt.

In a report by the Washington post, the next project that the Pentagon is after will be a network of drones and drone launch pods that will operate undersea; the network will cover the seven seas with defense and patrol capabilities.

In a military exercise that was staged by allied nations in the Scottish coast, some phases of this project were show cased in the Unmanned Warrior 2016 event. There was a wide range of autonomous systems that were being tested combined with web communications between sea, air, and land vehicles.

However, this is just the beginning. The Navy has been relentless in it’s pursuit for more effective systems that will map the Ocean floor, seek out hidden mines, conduct submarine searches and most importantly launch attacks in the high seas. The Navy intends to extend the longevity of its underwater networks thus allowing the unmanned crafts and systems to operate for years.

The Pentagon intends to spend $3 billion in systems that will operate undersea in the coming years; the Navy appointed the first deputy assistant secretary in charge of the unmanned systems back in 2015.

During a conference hosted by the Center for Strategic and International Studies, Rear Adm. Mathias Winter who is the head of office reported that the Office of Naval Research (ONR) had plans to build the Eisenhower highway network on the seabed in the seven oceans. The Adm. Added that the ultimate goal was to have large scale deployments of UUVs that will run for decades.

This comes at a time when countries around the globe have joined hands in the race for the global drone arms race; this announcement by the Pentagon is aimed at fueling the ongoing potential conflict and guarantee income channeled to the military industrial complex.
